Refugee Assistance

For over 100 years Bethel Neighborhood Center has worked with and assisted our foreign-born neighbors. We embrace the cultural diversity that is present in our community and seek to bridge any and all gaps that may exist between people. Our doors are open to everyone in our community. We accept everyone as they are because we are all created in God's image no matter where we come from. We work with immigrants and refugees to help them through the transition into an unfamiliar culture. Our staff is able to speak over five languages and our resources enable us to help to help many others as well. Currently, we work frequently with Burmese, Nepali, Bhutanese and Hispanic families.

Services that we provide:

  • Interpretation and Translation Services
  • Transportation
  • Advocacy
  • English as a Second Language classes
  • Clothes (as available)
  • As always, our food pantry is available to any Wyandotte County resident
